Check suppliers and avoid tender scams
Pause and verify unusual requests independently.
Verify through another route
Tender scams can copy official logos, RFQs and contact details. Use an independently found official contact to confirm a suspicious request. Do not rely only on the contact number in the message you are checking.
Check the delivery proposal
For your own supplier review, compare the quote with the required specification, quantity, lead time and delivery destination. Ask what is excluded and what happens if goods are late or incorrect.
Pause before payment
Treat changed banking details and pressure to pay as reasons to verify. Record who confirmed the instruction using a known contact route. Keep clear purchasing and approval records. A professional-looking document alone proves little.
Scenario: a new supplier wants payment to a changed bank account by midday. Write the independent verification steps you would take before authorising anything.
Optional. Keep identity numbers, bank details and passwords out of this note.
Remember: Confirm identity and instructions before committing money.
